
Shay Davis
Shayla Davis is a multi-hyphenate media professional, paralegal, content creator, advocate and community advocate from Youngstown, Ohio, known for using storytelling as a powerful tool for empowerment and change. Now residing in Akron, she is a graduate of Ohio Media School with a background in Radio and Television Broadcasting and is currently pursuing an associate degree in Paralegal Studies, expected in August 2026. Shayla has built her career at the intersection of journalism, law, and community engagement.
She has worked with outlets such as the Akron Beacon Journal, 330ToGo, Ego Entertainment, WAOH TV and currently runs ShayTuned, an independent news and media platform focused on amplifying underrepresented voices, highlighting local impact stories, and holding systems accountable. Her work law, Justice, investigation and community narratives that are often overlooked, and need spotlight on it blending professional reporting with authenticity and purpose.
In addition to her media work, Shayla is a working paralegal at the Okolo Law Firm, allowing her to bring legal insight into her reporting and advocacy. She is passionate about showing people that success does not require a single path, but rather courage, discipline, and belief in one’s own voice.
Through many engagements, Shayla shares her journey, lessons on confidence, resilience, and intentionality, and challenges people to recognize their power, tell their stories boldly, and move with purpose even before everything feels “figured out.”
